Microsoft Teams is finally fixing one of the worst things about PowerPoint presentations
>
Staring at your laptop and trying to understand tiny blurry text on a Microsoft Teams slide could soon be a thing of the past thanks to a new update.
The video conferencing service finally tackles one of the most tedious aspects of viewing presentations online through Teams by allowing users to resize or enlarge the slides they need.
Outlined on the official Microsoft 365 roadmap (opens in new tab)the update allows users to view a PowerPoint Live presentation to “privately magnify the slide”, hopefully putting an end to eye strain for good.

This feature also allows presenters to magnify specific slides for all meeting participants, which can be useful not only for display purposes but also to draw attention to certain areas or data points, such as in financial results or data comparisons.
The update, which is still “in development” for now, has a planned general availability date of November 2022 and will be made available to Microsoft Teams users worldwide upon launch.
It will be available to Microsoft Teams users on Desktop, Web, iOS, Mac, Android.
The launch marks the final phase in the collaboration between Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint Live as the company looks to facilitate closer links between some of its most popular tools.
This includes the integration of Cameo and Recording Studio, two existing tools announced by Microsoft in 2021 that sought to enhance the PowerPoint experience by allowing additional customization and recording tools, respectively.
Microsoft also unveiled a recording studio for PowerPoint that allows users to practice their presentations ahead of time. The idea is that looking at the images helps people sharpen their delivery and identify any areas that need improvement before moving to Microsoft Teams.
The company also recently unveiled support for live slide translation in PowerPoint Live, which means slides can be translated instantly during a Microsoft Teams call. Both presenters and attendees can privately translate the presentation content by right-clicking on the presentation, which will bring up the “Translate Slides” option.
