Microsoft suffers major OUTAGE leaving users across US unable to access Outlook, Teams and 365 services
Several Microsoft services are down due to an outage across the US, affecting tens of thousands of Americans.
The problem started around 7:50 a.m. ET on Thursday, as many people on the East Coast were starting their workday.
Microsoft says it is investigating an issue where users may be unable to access multiple 365 services, such as email and Teams.

Microsoft has not yet released any details about the cause of the outage or when services will be back online.
But the Azure cloud platform said on X, formerly Twitter, that it was investigating customer reports of a potential issue connecting Microsoft services to AT&T networks.
As of 8:30 a.m. ET, more than 20,000 users have reported outages to Downdetector, a site that tracks online service outages.
However, this is likely an underestimate, as not every affected user filed a report.
Despite widespread reports of outages, service health site – last updated around 9:20am ET – indicates that all Microsoft services are running.
This is the second major outage at Microsoft in the past two months.
On July 30, the company was hit by a global outage, limiting access to Microsoft 365 services like Office, Outlook, and Azure.
Microsoft has since confirmed that the outage in July was caused by a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) cyberattack. This is when normal traffic on a server, service or network is disrupted by flooding it with a flood of internet traffic.
Users on X expressed their frustrations about today’s outage.
“I’m already bitter that I have to use Microsoft Outlook for work. Now it’s completely down,” wrote X user Kelly Leonard.
“Microsoft is down. Can’t open Outlook or Microsoft Teams. Can we please get this fixed ASAP? I have work to do. LOL,” wrote X user Casey Wooley.
