A Michigan woman has been charged with the murder of her “best friend” with whom she had an argument after the couple got involved in a vicious “booze-fuelled” brawl over their husband.

Raquelle Casillas, 44, of Mussey Township, is said to have “shared” the same man with a 44-year-old Almont woman, who has yet to be identified.

Casillas shared a captioned photo ‘My best friend’ on Facebook in the week leading up to the death. Both women smiled with black eyes, cuts and bruises in the blink of an eye.

When asked why both women were badly bruised and scratched, Casillas replied, “We were fighting. I brought her boyfriend.’

The pair had been fighting for days over a 44-year-old man from Capac in St. Clair County when he reported an attack at his home in which the victim was found unconscious.

The Almont woman was taken to McLaren Hospital, where doctors said she suffered head trauma. She died two days later.

Casillas’ father told DailyMail.com that he believed the beating was “fuelled by drink” — though he was unable to identify the woman killed, or the man the women were fighting over.

“They had been binge drinking for a while and I think that probably had something to do with it. It was definitely the alcohol,” Carlos Casillas, 67, told DailyMail.com of the deadly love triangle.

“If she’s not drinking, she’s a different person, but she started drinking in recent years — long before the relationship started.”

“They probably got along because they were all alcoholics,” he added.

Deputies were alerted to the brawl at the man’s home in the center of the rendezvous at around 4 a.m. Tuesday after the women began waging war over him.

Deputies were called to find Casillas’ girlfriend unconscious in the home’s bathroom, but she was still breathing. She was taken to hospital but died two days later

Casillas’ girlfriend was found unconscious on the bathroom floor after being beaten, but was still breathing when emergency services arrived and took her to hospital.

The 44-year-old victim was taken to McLaren Lapeer Hospital, where she later died from severe head trauma sustained Thursday morning.

Police said the disagreement arose over their relationship with the man, the argument having gone on for several days prior to the shocking death.

Casillas has been charged with one count of open murder.

Her bail has also been denied and she is currently being held at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center with her next hearing scheduled for June 20.
