Michigan woman aged SEVENTY NINE is charged with sending inappropriate Snapchats to underage child: Retired from school last year

  • The 79-year-old is accused of sending sexual messages to a child she knew in the month of her retirement
  • The former nurse remains in jail pending her next court appearance on February 12

A 79-year-old retired Michigan high school employee faces four years in prison after being accused of sending sexual text messages and Snapchats to a minor child.

Sue Ann Asch, 79, is accused of sending the messages to a child she knew in September 2023, the same month she retired as a paraprofessional educational assistant at Kalkaska Public Schools.

Michigan State Police said Asch turned herself in after a felony warrant for her arrest was approved on Jan. 8.

Investigators subsequently seized multiple electronic devices from her West Street home.

The devices were sent to the state police computer crimes unit and a report was submitted to the Kalkaska County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

She remains in the Kalkaska County Jail on a $5,000 bond prior to her next scheduled court appearance on February 12.

Police began investigating after interviewing the child at the Traverse City Children’s Advocacy Center in September.

Kalkaska Public Schools Superintendent Rick Heitmeyer said upnorthlive.com that Asch worked for the school district starting in 2012.

He said she was a paraprofessional at Kalkaska Middle School when she retired in September.

Asch was charged in court Monday with soliciting children for immoral purposes.

She remains in the Kalkaska County Jail on a $5,000 bond prior to her next scheduled court appearance on February 12.
