A 15-year-old Michigan student has been arrested and charged with a felony after hurling a metal chair at her teacher’s head from across the classroom.
The high school student has been charged with two felonies stemming from the harrowing incident that occurred Thursday afternoon at Southwestern Classical Academy in Flint, Michigan.
The teacher became unconscious and immediately fell to the floor after two students argued and one picked up a chair and threw it at her.
Flint Police Chief Terence Green said ABC12 that when the school resource officer went to break up a fight between two high school students, they found the teacher lying on the floor with a head injury.

Both students were arrested and prosecutor David Leyton authorized two charges of assault against the girl who threw the chair.
Disturbing footage showed the teacher standing in front of the classroom talking to students before he was knocked to the ground with the chair.
The teacher, who was not named, was hospitalized, although it is unclear what injuries she suffered in the attack.
She was released from the hospital on Thursday and is expected to return to work next week.
The school’s superintendent, Kevelin Jones, sent a letter to parents informing them that an altercation occurred this week between “two scholars” that left the staff member injured.

The school district issued this letter but has not yet confirmed whether the girl has been suspended
It is unclear whether the student has been arrested or is facing charges.
On Thursday, Flint Community School sent a letter to them Facebook page reassuring parents that they ‘take these matters seriously’ and that they will ‘continue to do everything we can to create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment’.
The letter stated that the district has launched an investigation into the incident, but did not indicate whether the student had been suspended or expelled.
“We understand that these types of incidents can be concerning and we want to reassure you that we are actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone at Southwestern Classical Academy.
