Michelle Yeoh oozes elegance as she’s honored with excellence award at SBIFF

Michelle Yeoh is riding a wave on her career front, as the Malaysian actress navigates filming two movies in the past few months and wrapping up another.

And on Friday he confirmed that he has now been added to the cast of the epic musical fantasy film Wicked, which has already begun filming principal photography.

That confirmation came the same day she was honored with the 15th Annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Before the ceremony, the actress hit the red carpet to strut her stuff in front of adoring photographers in a short-sleeved white dress.

She spiced up the number by wearing an edgy gold choker necklace.

To round off her look, Yeoh swept her long black locks out of her face and pulled them into a loose ponytail.

After playing with the camera by blowing a kiss or two, Yeoh was joined by his Everything Everywhere At Once crew on the red carpet.

Producer Jonathan Wang and the film’s co-directors, Daniel Scheinert Daniel Kwan, struck some poses with the leading lady, and in the process brought their own brand of comedy by making funny faces and hand gestures.

At one point, Yeoh playfully grabbed Scheinert and Kwan by the neck and started acting like he was going to rough them up.

Actor Christopher Loyd and his wife Lisa Loiacono also stepped out in front of photographers for a series of snaps together looking stylish in their respective black ensembles.

Yeoh was joined on the red carpet by her crew from Everything Everywhere At At Once, who proceeded to show off their comedic touches; Producer Jonathan Wang and the film’s co-directors Daniel Scheinert Daniel Kwan flanked the actress.

Yeoh is an internationally recognized Malaysian-born actress who rose to fame in Hong Kong action films of the 1990s.

Since then, he has starred in a number of box office hits and acclaimed films, including the film Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022), which became a bona fide hit grossing $103.4 million on a $25 million budget.

After joining the cast of Avatar 3, which ended in December 2020, Yeoh is currently working on the fourth installment which began two months ago in September.

she has also been shooting the mystery film A Haunting In Venice since the end of October, with Kenneth Branagh pulls double duty as a director and one of the stars alongside Jamie Dornan and Tina Fey.

A Haunting In Venice is scheduled to be released on September 15, 2023.

Star Power: Christopher Loyd and his wife Lisa Loiacono were also present at the event.

The actress confirmed that she had joined the cast of Wicked, which has already begun shooting with John M. Chu directing.

In addition to those movies, Yeoh confirmed that she has been added to the cast of Wicked, playing the role of Madame Morrible.

Ariana Grande plays Glinda and Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba in the John M. Chu film which will be shot in two parts, with the first expected to be released Christmas 2024.

In October, Yeoh finished Transformer: Rise Of The Beasts, and the film is now slated for a June 2023 release.

Along with Everything Everywhere All At Once, Yeoh’s busy 2022 also included voice roles in the computer-animated comedy film Minions: The Rose Of Gru, the animated film Paws Of Fury: The Legend of Hank, both of which were released in July, and the fantasy film The School for Good and Evil.

Acclaimed: Yeoh has been celebrated for her performance in the wacky comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All At Once, which premiered in late March.
