The murder trial of Venezuelan socialite Michelle Troconis has been postponed for a second time after a rogue juror’s note compared the case to the plot of the movie Gone Girl.
Troconis is accused of helping her boyfriend, the late Fotis Dulos, carry out the murder of his wife and Connecticut mother, Jennifer Dulos, and then covering it up.
On Friday morning, the judge revealed that he had received a note from a juror in which a fellow juror had compared the case online to the movie “Gone Girl,” in which a woman fakes her own death to frame her husband.
According to the judge, the note read: “One of the jurors discussed something about the case and it was all over social media. She said it was like Gone Girl.”
The judge added that several other jurors interacted with the post WTNHHowever, after a brief recess, it was decided that the note would not affect the jury’s ability to become impartial.
It comes after another break on Wednesday, during which an alternate juror was dismissed when they were caught having a bizarre interaction with a lawyer during a lunch break, telling them: “We love you.”

The sixth day of the socialite’s trial was postponed after a juror commented that the case was similar to “Gone Girl,” a film in which a woman fakes her own murder to frame her husband. It was decided that the violation would not ensure that the jury would be impartial, and the trial was restarted
Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared in May 2019. Her remains were never found, but police believe she was murdered by her husband Fotis Dulos, and that his new girlfriend Michelle Troconis conspired with him to help him cover up the crime.
Troconis — who is accused of helping lover Fotis Dulos kill his wife in 2019 — is currently free on $2 million bond. Dulos committed suicide in January 2020 and Troconis faces 20 years in prison if convicted
Troconis faces 20 years in prison after being charged with conspiring to kill Jennifer Dulos, whose remains were never found after she disappeared in May 2019.
Police believe she was murdered by her husband Fotis Dulos and have charged both Dulos and Troconis – his new girlfriend at the time – with her murder in June 2019.
Dulos committed suicide in January 2020, leaving Troconis to face music alone. In his suicide note he claimed that Troconis had nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance.
Prosecutors have argued that Troconis helped Dulos dispose of evidence.
The break Friday came during a forensic scientist’s cross-examination, when a marshal received a note from one of the jurors with information about another.
Interviews were conducted with the note taker, the alleged film fan and other members of the jury, with it being decided that the violation would not result in the jury becoming impartial. The process resumed after about an hour of waiting.
