“I thought, ‘That’s what a gift is.'”
She then claimed that despite her problems buying gifts for her husband, she is the best gift giver in the family because she “actually pays attention to everyone” and listens.
“I’m the one who organizes all the gift giving,” Michelle said. “I’m making sure all the kids we know are covered, I have my list.”
“I’m the one who makes Christmas possible.”
The family is spending Christmas in Hawaii, she noted, saying her husband’s home state is one of the reasons she fell in love with him.

“His family is there and now it’s his sister, my nieces and a bunch of friends who have been coming to see us for years. We go to the island for a little sun.
“That’s why you have to choose your husband well,” the former first lady joked.
“He became a lot nicer when I found out he was from Hawaii, I was like, ‘Oh okay.’
