Michelle Monaghan reveals she kissed Tom Cruise during her HONEYMOON as she filmed Mission: Impossible 3: ‘I had kind of an intimate scene’

It's not every day that an actress gets to film a kiss scene with Tom Cruise, let alone on their honeymoon.

Michelle Monaghan has revealed how she shot a romantic scene with the actor for their film Mission: Impossible III, just after tying the knot with husband Peter White.

During a joint interview with her The Family Plan co-star Mark Wahlberg for ColliderMonaghan recalled having to skip her honeymoon to work on the JJ Abrahams-directed film and how her new husband fully supported her “making out” with Cruise, 61.

The couple tied the knot in 2005, but after the wedding she was able to start working for Monaghan straight away.

'It was just such a big movie. I had just gotten married and had more or less skipped my honeymoon to jump straight into filmmaking. Then I remember going to work, and Tom and I had this kind of intimate scene, and of course that was the first scene,” the 47-year-old actress described.

Monaghan was a newlywed when she started working on Mission: Impossible III

'Then I came home from work, I was so nervous and my husband said, “Don't worry, you're going to follow his lead. You're going to have a great time. It's going to be great.” I came home at the end of the day, opened the hotel room and he said, “How was it?” I thought, 'Oh my God, it was amazing. He was so nice. It was amazing.'”

Peter was even able to joke about it: 'He says, “How cool is it that you were making out with Tom Cruise on our honeymoon?” Because we're just such fans.'

Monaghan added that the story was a “testament” to the kind of person her partner is.

“That's a testament to the man I married, who has just completely supported me and is excited and enthusiastic about the opportunities,” she said.

Wahlberg then asked if Peter was jealous. “No, he was just so proud,” Michelle replied.

Michelle went on to say that the role was the culmination of all her hard work: “I worked hard to get that role, and it was just one of those things. We just got married and really discovered our careers together in New York, so that was really special.

“But obviously I was very nervous the night before, and then I had a great shoot with JJ and Tom, and I have all the respect for them and that franchise.”

Michelle and Peter met in the year 2000 and married in Sydney in 2005. They share two children, daughter Willow Katherine and son Tommy Francis.
