Michelle Keegan has revealed the lines she refused to say in Fool Me Once to avoid offending her 'British Icon' co-star Joanna Lumley.
Michelle, 36, and Joanna, 77, appeared on The One Show on Tuesday to talk about their new Netflix series, based on Harlan Coben's novel of the same name.
The pair discussed Michelle's character Maya Stern, who had to swear and use foul language at her mother-in-law Joanna, who plays Judith Burkett.
The former Coronation Street actress described the Absolutely Fabulous star as a 'British icon', insisting: 'Honestly, when I read the script I thought, “Oh no, oh no.” We laughed a bit when we were rehearsing, didn't we?
“I don't think I said it when we were rehearsing, I was like, 'I can't do it, I can't do it.'

Joanna admitted that it can be awkward when someone swears at you if you're not used to it.
She said: 'If it's not used often, foul language will come… it will come out of the screen and that will happen.'
In the much-talked-about show, Michelle plays the apparent widow Maya, but after installing a nanny cam to keep an eye on her young daughter, she sees her late husband Joe – played by Richard Armitage – on camera.
This revelation throws Maya into a world of conspiracy as she wonders what really happened to her partner and what role his family, and in particular his mother (Joanna as Judith), played in the saga.
Michelle made sure to gush over Joanna again on Instagram after their One Show appearance.
She wrote alongside a photo: 'Me and my mother-in-law on screen. (We really love each other) What a day!!!!'
'So overwhelmed by all your wonderful messages about Fool Me Once. Thank you, thank you xxx,” the Our Girl star added.
Michelle's husband Mark – who she married in 2015 – was one of many fans who took to social media to admire the actress' performance in her new show.
