Michelle Keegan is expecting her first child with husband Mark Wright, MailOnline can reveal.

The Netflix actress and TV presenter, both 37, confirmed the happy news on Instagram and shared a sweet photo alongside the caption: ‘2025 will be special for us…’

Former Coronation Street star Michelle married Mark, who shot to fame in the ITVBe series TOWIE, in May 2015 and the couple live together in a country house in Essex that they built from scratch.

Heart Radio presenter Mark is already an uncle to the two children of footballer brother Josh and sister Jess’s son and has spoken over the years about wanting to one day become a father himself.

The parents-to-be were last seen together on Sunday, December 22, alongside Mark’s former TOWIE co-star James Argent and his new girlfriend as they enjoyed a double date at the Ivy.

Michelle hid her baby bump by wearing a long beige coat and a red scarf, while Mark wrapped up in a gray puffer jacket.

Michelle’s pregnancy comes a year after she starred in the Netflix drama Fool Me Once, which became one of the streamer’s most-watched shows of all time.

In the Harlan Coben adaptation, Michelle played military pilot Maya Stern and was an instant global hit, racking up more than 98,200,200 views in its first 91 days.

She started her career in ITV’s Coronation Street, where she played Tina for six years before leaving the Cobbles in 2014.

Her first serious role after the soap was in the BBC drama Our Girl, which aired the same year she married husband Mark, who left TOWIE in 2011 after three seasons.

In recent years she has also starred in the historical drama Ten Pound Poms, filmed in Australia, and the Sky TV comedy Brassic.

During a 2019 interview, Michelle, who was 32 at the time, spoke of her “frustration” at constantly being asked when she and Mark were planning to start a family, saying: “These days you shouldn’t ask questions.” Like this.’

She said: ‘They don’t know the background of what’s happening. It’s no one else’s business.

Mark has previously spoken about how he and Michelle met, explaining that the couple ran in ‘similar circles’ but first linked backstage on the X Factor.

They married at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds and celebrated their nine-year wedding anniversary last May.

Former Extra TV presenter Mark was famous for his appearance on reality show TOWIE, starring alongside best friend James Argent and sister Jess Wright in the long-running series.

Before leaving, he dated co-stars Lucy Mecklenburgh and Sam Faiers, but it was his romance with ex-fiancée Lauren Goodger that became integral to the show’s storyline.

Since TOWIE, Mark has furthered his career by presenting Extra TV in Los Angeles, during which time he and Michelle had to endure a long-distance relationship.

He has also taken part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing and will host The Challenge: UK in 2023.

In July he joined forces with Spencer Matthews of Made In Chelsea to launch their joint ambassadorial deal with Marks & Spencer, given their apt names.
