Michelle Heaton celebrated an incredible 19 months of sobriety in December.

But on Saturday, the 43-year-old Liberty X star shared some candid photos of herself in the hospital in the midst of her battle with addiction in a bid to raise awareness and help others.

The singer shared some heartbreaking snaps of herself with a bruised face after ‘collapsing into active addiction’, before encouraging her followers to reach out to those who might be hurting to help them turn their lives around.

‘Two years ago this was me… I was admitted to the hospital, not for the first and not for the last time. I had collapsed into an active addiction,” her post began.

‘I left the hospital the next day, went over to the shop without a license and bought more vodka.

‘Does it sound crazy? Is! But it was the only way she knew to live. So I thought.

“I swore to my colleagues, family and doctors that I was recovering. I meant it. But my addict mind had a different plan.

Michelle then encouraged her followers to reach out to others who might be hurting.

‘The New Year is a time when we all make goals and resolutions. Why don’t you set out to reach someone like me? she said.

I turned it down many times so don’t be discouraged if they say no. The day will come when they will have had enough.

In April, the 42-year-old Liberty X singer admitted she had “given up on life” before seeking treatment with a 28-day stay in rehab the previous year.

Speaking to Closer magazine, the mother of two said the worst part of her alcoholism was what she put her husband Hugh Hanley and their two children Faith, 10, and AJ, eight, through.
