Michael van Gerwen makes x-rated comment in live interview after beating Chris Dobey at World Darts Championship as Sky Sports forced to apologise

Sky Sports presenter Abigail Davies has been forced to apologize after Michael van Gerwen swore in his post-match interview following his victory over Chris Dobey at the World Darts Championship.

Three-time world champion Van Gerwen defeated Dobey 6-1 to book his place in the final at Alexandra Palace.

And speaking to Davies after his win, Van Gerwen said he had won ‘f*** all yet’ in response to a question about where things would stand if he were to triumph in the final tomorrow.

“We’ll have to apologize for the language there,” Davies said as the Dutchman shrugged.

Van Gerwen was in excellent form in the semi-finals as he swept aside 15th seed Dobey to reach a seventh world final.

His opponent is Luke Littler or Stephen Bunting, who meet in the other semi-final on Thursday evening.

Van Gerwen said: ‘I’m in the final, I’ve already won everything, I have to make sure I do it in the final.

‘I am here with a mission, with a purpose, you will always have ups and downs, today I showed maturity even though I was not at my best, I produced good things at the right times and that gives me confidence.

‘Winning the semi-final means a lot to me. What I always say, we’re not even close, we’re still so far away.

‘Tomorrow is another day. The title is still far away, that’s what I have to tell myself: I don’t want to make mistakes, I want to keep fighting.’

The crowd at Alexandra Palace laughed as the 35-year-old dropped the F-bomb live on Sky Sports, with Davies apologizing for the language.
