Michael Rowland announces his retirement from ABC News Breakfast after ’15 years of 3am starts’

Michael Rowland has announced his retirement from ABC News Breakfast.

The 55-year-old announced the news to viewers on Monday morning, revealing his last show would be on December 13.

“I love working on News Breakfast,” Rowland announced. ‘Every morning it’s a hustle and bustle and it’s by far the best job I’ve had at the ABC.

‘But after 15 years at 3am my body screams ‘enough!’. The hours have finally caught up with me.’
