Michael Olise ‘will undergo his Bayern Munich medical TODAY’ as the forward’s move to the German giants from Crystal Palace edges closer after he snubbed Premier League interest

According to a report, Michael Olise is due to undergo a medical at Bayern Munich today in preparation for his move from Crystal Palace.

The forward has rejected Premier League interest to join the German squad, where he will join Harry Kane and be managed by former Burnley boss Vincent Kompany.

Bayern and Palace are negotiating the player’s release clause and the France U21 international has been away with his country ahead of his departure from England.

Olise, 22, also attracted strong interest from Newcastle United and Chelsea, although the latter said they were no longer in the running for the winger’s signature.

He will now be one step closer to securing the move, he said Sky Sportsis undergoing his medical treatment ahead of one of the most hotly anticipated transfers of the summer transfer window.

He is expected to be one of Vincent Kompany’s first signings since taking charge of Bayern.

Palace had been prepared to offer Olise a new contract, but the lure of Champions League football proved too great.

Manchester United have admired him but are not in the financial position to pursue the star.

Bayern are looking to return as the dominant force in German football after being toppled by Xavi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Olise joined Palace from Reading in 2021, moving from the Championship to the Premier League.

In his three years at Palace he has become a fan favorite and one of their best attacking talents alongside England’s Eberechi Eze, and has been key to their return to form in 2024.

The winger scored a career-best 10 goals last season and provided six assists as Oliver Glasner took over as manager from Roy Hodgson.

He signed a new contract last August for £100,000-a-week after rejecting Chelsea’s approach, with the Blues believing they had secured his services after activating his then release clause.

But with the youngster attracting a lot of interest from top Premier League clubs and European superpowers, it seemed difficult to keep hold of him this summer.

His new release clause is estimated at around £60 million, with Bayern ready to make him one of their first signings of the summer.

The move will be a coup for Vincent Kompany, who agreed to succeed Thomas Tuchel at the Allianz Arena last month after the German star of the year sacking.

It is a setback, but not unexpected, for the young Glasner government in south London ahead of the new Premier League season.
