Dr. Michael Mosley’s wife Clare has thanked his well-wishers for their ‘outpouring of love’ after he died on a Greek holiday island, as she described him as an ‘amazing man’ who ‘we miss so much’.

Dr. Bailey released a new tribute on Instagram today, sharing a photo of her husband – a popular TV medic and Post columnist – who was found dead on June 7 after going missing while on holiday in Symi.

She vowed to continue the work of the popular TV doctor and Post columnist, who was well-liked for his health advice, including on weight loss and exercise.

Dr. Bailey told her 146,000 Instagram followers: ‘Thank you all for your wonderfully supportive messages. The outpouring of love from so many people has meant the world to me and my family.

‘I’m going to be quiet for a moment. I’m sure you’ll understand. But I’ll be back here soon.

“I really want to continue the work that gave Michael and myself so much joy and a sense of purpose.

“Thank you again so much for so kindly respecting my family’s privacy.

‘Michael was a great man. Thanks for seeing that too. We miss him so much.’

Dr. Mosley was found dead near a gate in the Agia Marina resort, 80 meters from a beach bar and safe, after going missing during a walk at a time when temperatures reached 40 degrees Celsius.

An autopsy revealed that he collapsed and died of “natural causes” about two and a half hours after going for a walk.

Sophie Laurimore, director of The Soho Agency, which Dr. Mosley, described him as a “wise, wonderful and sweet man” when news of his death was confirmed.

She said: “It is with such deep sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend and client, the wise, wonderful and sweet man, Michael Mosley.

“Michael loved what he did and found it a pleasure and privilege to work with his colleagues in TV, radio, publishing and at his company, The Fast 800.

“He was deeply grateful for the public’s receptiveness to the ideas he had the opportunity to share and to the many scientists whose work he had the honor of helping to popularize.

“Our hearts are with Clare and the children. Michael was unique. The work he did was important. We will miss him terribly.’

Dr. Bailey previously paid tribute to him as an ‘amazing, funny, kind and brilliant husband’ as she described how he made an ‘incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed’.

She said earlier this month: ‘I don’t really know where to start with this. It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband.

‘We have had an incredibly happy life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together. I am extremely proud of our children, their resilience and support over the past few days.

“My family and I have been deeply comforted by the outpouring of love from people around the world. It is clear that Michael meant a lot to many of you.

‘We take comfort in the fact that he almost made it. He made an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed in a place where he could not easily be seen by the extended search team.

‘Michael was an adventurous man, it’s part of what made him so special. We are so grateful to the extraordinary people at Symi who worked tirelessly to help find him.

“Some of these people on the island, who had never heard of Michael, worked from dawn to dusk without being asked.”

The affection of Dr. Mosley for his wife shone brightly as the BBC broadcast his last ever interview – on how to live a good life.

The Mail health guru’s moving final program was recorded in front of an audience at the Hay Festival, just two weeks before the beloved health expert’s tragic death in Greece.

Time and again Dr Mosley mentioned his wife Dr Clare Bailey with whom he has four children and worked closely on all his projects.

He was known for his revolutionary weight-loss plan, the 5:2 diet, in which he fasted two days a week and ate a balanced diet the rest of the time.
