Michael Maguire officially made the move from Sydney to Brisbane on Wednesday afternoon.
But it appears he has been busy making some big changes at the Broncos since being announced as the club’s new head coach.
After taking over from Kevin Walters earlier this month, he is set to kick off a new era at the football club, but he still has a lot to do to reverse Brisbane’s woes of last season, finishing twelfth on the NRL ladder.
It was announced on Thursday that he is taking big steps in his attempt to bring about change at the club The Daily Telegraph report that the Broncos hierarchy plans to remove Allan Langer from his role as on-field coach.
The club will instead offer their former captain a role as a corporate ambassador.
They expect Langer, a Clive Churchill medalist who led the Broncos to four premierships, to work with sponsors.
The Broncos Hall of Famer was appointed assistant coach under Ivan Henjack in 2009 and has been a fixture at the club ever since.
It is understood Maguire will meet with the 58-year-old to discuss his potential new role.
“Alf is coming into the organization,” Maguire had said.
‘I haven’t really had a chance to see him properly yet, but I’ve spoken to Alf on the phone and he’s a great man.
“I’ve been able to spend some time with him over the years.
‘Now that I’m moving up, I want to sit down with Alf and see how it all fits together best.

“He is clearly one of the greats of the club and a very popular figure in football,” he added, making it clear he would try to keep Langer at the club.
“I think everyone likes Alf, but the best part is how we put together our program… Alf can play so many different roles within the Broncos organization.”
Langer is highly regarded as one of Australia’s best rugby league players, with Walters previously heaping praise on the former halfback, claiming: ‘He’s a great ally to have and is a true Broncos man, which makes it even more special .
“We’ll carry Alf out in a coffin.”
However, Langer had reportedly reflected on his future at the club after Walters’ departure left him ‘shattered’ according to the Courier Mail.
It comes as Maguire looks to make multiple changes to the club in a bid to return the Broncos to their previous position in the league.
The coach had told the outlet that he would be considering his future during a recent family vacation.
It would be a huge loss for the club if Langer were to leave as he had been a fan favorite for years. Ricky Stuart once described it as “the greatest Bronco.”
