Michael Madsen accuses ‘abusive’ wife DeAnna of driving their son to his suicide in explosive divorce filing

Actor Michael Madsen has filed for divorce from his ex-wife DeAnna, claiming he has been the victim of her abuse for years.

The 65-year-old Reservoir Dogs star married DeAnna, 64, in 1996 and they have three children: Kalvin, 27, Luke, 18, and Hudson, who committed suicide in January 2022 at age 26 while stationed in Hawaii with the U.S. Army.

Madsen filed for divorce on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences and adding that he has been separated since January 2022.

In the petition, he claimed he believes DeAnna’s “neglect, drinking and alcoholism” contributed to Hudson’s suicide.

The Kill Bill star also alleged he was in an “abusive, codependent and toxic relationship” with DeAnna, which resulted in his arrest on domestic violence charges last month.

His attorney Perry Wander insisted his client was “not guilty of domestic violence.”

He also accused DeAnna of “breaking into” Madsen’s home on Sunday, when the alleged incident occurred.

“He confronted her and asked her to leave,” said Wander, who claimed this was “an ongoing problem.”

“Michael has shown tremendous compassion and restraint toward his estranged wife during this time. He is absolutely not guilty of domestic violence,” Wander concluded.

DeAnna responded with a statement of her own, claiming that her estranged husband is “struggling with personal issues.”

Just weeks later, the case against Madsen was dropped by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office due to “insufficient evidence.”

“We are thrilled that Michael Madsen can put this behind him and look forward to our continued collaboration on more great things from this accomplished and respected actor,” his representative said in a statement.

Madsen is best known for his collaborations with Quentin Tarantino, such as Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill.
