Michael Irvin is under investigation in Texas over a vague allegation of misconduct.
“There has been an allegation, but we are not prepared to release details at this time as our investigation is in the very early stages,” Allen PD Public Information Officer Jonathan Maness told Pro Football by email Talk.
Maness did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s follow-up questions.
Without providing details, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and legendary Dallas Cowboys receiver denies the accusation through his attorney.
Lawyer Levi McCathern told PFT by phone that Irvin “vehemently denies” whatever he is accused of.
“He has done nothing wrong or inappropriate,” McCathern said, adding that he expects the lawsuit to turn out to be “much ado about nothing.”

Irvin, who works for Fox Sports and NFL Network, has faced a host of legal troubles both before and after his retirement from the NFL in 1999.
He was only recently reinstated by NFL Network for the 2023 season following allegations of unwanted sexual advances during last year’s Super Bowl, which resulted in his suspension and fighting lawsuits between himself and the Marriott hotel chain.
Marriott and Irvin reportedly settled their complaint, but only after the chain alleged in a lawsuit that the former NFL star asked a hotel employee “if she knew anything about having a ‘big black man in (her)’ .
Irvin was accused of sexual assault after a 2007 incident at a Hollywood hotel. Four years later, a settlement was reportedly reached in the civil lawsuit.
Then in 2017, a 27-year-old woman accused Irvin of drugging and sexually assaulting her at the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, but no charges were filed against him.

In addition to his more recent media work, Irvin is best remembered for winning three Super Bowls with the Cowboys in the 1990s, after winning a national title at Miami in 1987.
During his football career, Irvin was named All-Pro three times, in addition to five Pro Bowl nods. He was also named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 1990s.
His playing career ended in 1999 when Irving had recorded 75 receptions for 11,904 yards and 65 touchdowns.
In 2019, Irvin beat throat cancer and was eventually able to return to NFL Network.
