Michael Irvin’s many talents are well known, but if there was any doubt about his ability to excite a group of men, it is no longer the case.

Irvin went to Boulder to watch his good friend – and University of Colorado football head coach – Deion Sanders.

While in the Rockies, Irvin gave a rousing, ready-to-go speech that he is famous for, highlighting the difference between some of America’s popular sports and his undisputed favorite.

“You can see it in basketball: LeBron takes the ball off one edge and dunks on the other — he does it all by himself,” Irvin said as he walked through his speech.

“You see it in baseball: Aaron Judge gets up and hits that home run — he does it all by himself. In golf, Tiger drops the pit – he does it all by himself.

Irvin used both LeBron James and Tiger Woods to express the collective nature of football

“In football you don’t do anything alone. It’s always, it’s always about the man next to you.

“It’s always about the man who’s with me. Can you look left and right every day? I’m not talking about game day.

“I’m talking every day. I made the promise. One man against the other. “Today I will finish my work.” This is how you win football matches. One man against the other. “Today I will finish my work.”

There is a swirl of optimism surrounding the once formidable Power 5 program ahead of the opening game of the college football season against TCU on Sept. 2.

Coach Prime, aka Sanders, has revived the Buffaloes, who were the worst team among Power 5 schools last season.

With five-star recruit Travis Hunter among many star players to keep an eye on, Colorado – at least during the opening weeks – will be TV not to be missed.

Of course, that’s without considering Sanders himself, who more often than not is at the box office just like his ex-teammate Irvin.
