Michael Clarke says ex Kyly is ‘beautiful’ and the pair have an ‘amazing friendship’

Michael Clarke praised his ex-wife Kyly as a “beautiful mother,” revealing that the pair still have a “great friendship” and are focused on raising their seven-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee, together.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia at an event celebrating the FIFA World Cup on Friday, the cricketing legend, 41, revealed he is a “huge family man” and would love to have “20 more kids”.

The father-of-one took Kelsey Lee to the star-studded event where the pair posed and had a kickabout at Hublot Palms House in Vaucluse, Sydney, with Michael revealing that the little girl has ‘changed his life for the better’.

“I cherish every minute I have with her [Kelsey],’ he explained.

“I am so grateful that she changed my life for the better. She helped me become the person I want to be.”

The former Australian cricket captain divorced wife Kyly Clarke in September 2019 after seven years of marriage.

They only announced their breakup on February 12, 2020.

In a statement at the time, the couple said the “amicable” decision to part ways was “the best course of action” for their daughter.

More recently, he was in a high-profile relationship with PE Nation designer Pip Edwards and earlier this month made his red carpet debut with Jade Yarbrough at the Louis Vuitton exhibition in Sydney.

Clearly a loving father, Clarke is often pictured with his daughter, with the father of one adding to Daily Mail Australia that he would ‘love to have another 20’ children.

“I’m so in love with my little girl that I think I’ve always been a family man, like I love my sister and my parents. My friends are like family to me. And they also have children. So my sister has two kids, so I’m an uncle. Family means everything to me,” he explained.

Michael added that his daughter teaches him “a lot” and loves musical theatre, gymnastics, swimming and playing the piano

‘She [Kelsey’s] got a beautiful mother. She has a beautiful mother who cares about her as much as I do.

“We have a great friendship and it’s all about making sure our daughter is taken care of and cared for and learning the rules of life. There’s discipline and tough days, but that’s part of parenting,” he continued.

“Kyly and I have such great friendships and allow ourselves to make sure everything we do is about our daughter,” he added.

Michael was joined on the red carpet by a flurry of Australian stars. The sports star opted for rare Off-White x Nike Air VaporMax sneakers that cost $2,718

Clarkey redefined smart casual and paired the shoe with black track pants, a white T-shirt with a black sweater and blazer on top

The star also revealed that he and Kyly have joint custody of the little one for a week each.

‘I’m open seven days a week. When I have my daughter, it’s game on.

I drop off school, pick up school. Think about what we do on weekends and I love it.”

The star also revealed that he and Kyly have joint custody of the little one for a week each

Michel said his daughter teaches him “a lot” and enjoys doing itnormal theater, gymnastics, swimming and piano, adding, “This girl can’t sit still.”

‘The only compulsory thing in my house is swimming. I want her to learn how to swim because we spend a lot of time on the water. We have a pool in our backyard.’

Michael is currently dating Jade Yarbrough after the pair went public in August.
