- Michael Clarke has landed a new commentary gig
- He was effectively dumped earlier this year
- Clarke, 42, was involved in a fight in Noosa
Michael Clarke returns to cricket pundits for the first time since his high-profile fight with Karl Stefanovic in Noosa.
But the former Australia Test captain will return to the airwaves this summer as part of ESPN's 'Around The Wicket' multi-platform programme, which will analyze Pat Cummins' side.
Clarke's former teammates Aaron Finch and Mike Hussey will also feature on the programme, presented by Fox Cricket and Channel 9 presenter Neroli Meadows.
The new show debuts Wednesday nights at 5 p.m. on ESPN. Foxtel and Kayo viewers will be able to watch it, while it was also simulcast on ESPN's Cricinfo digital website.
Michael Clarke returns to the TV studio after a punditry gig
Clarke was effectively dropped by the ICC and BCCI after his infamous brawl in Noosa
He will appear in a new ESPN show alongside Aaron Finch this summer
Clarke's dulcet tones have not been heard on Australian airwaves since the TV rights were transferred from Channel 9 to Fox Sports and Channel 7 in 2018.
However, he was a regular on ICC and BCCI commentaries prior to the Noose saga, where he was involved in a verbal battle with Today presenter Stefanovic.
Mark Waugh, Mitchell Johnson and Finch replaced Clarke early this year for the BCCI's coverage of Australia's tour of India.
“Clarke brings experience as a former Australian cricket captain, in a career spanning 115 Test matches and 245 one-day internationals,” a statement from ESPN said.
'The former captain enjoyed a high-octane cricket career, from his 151 on Test debut in India to 6-9 match-winning bowling performances and historic 329 not out career high innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
'Around the Wicket will provide a taste of the big international matches during the Australian summer, with episodes airing both on the eve and at the end of each Test match against Pakistan and the West Indies, Women's Test series against India and Twenty20 Big Bash.'
