Michael Bublé has revealed that his son’s ‘unthinkable’ battle with hepatoblastoma, a rare type of liver cancer, forced him to lose his ‘alter-ego’.
The singer, 47, admitted he felt like the “superhero I always wanted to be” before being “changed” by nine-year-old Noah’s diagnosis at the age of three in 2016.
And having been married to his wife, actress Luisana Lopilato, 35, since 2011, he stated that “understanding the fulfillment of the other” keeps their relationship solid.
‘I would become the superhero I always wanted to be’: Michael Bublé has revealed that his son’s ‘unthinkable’ battle against a rare type of liver cancer forced him to lose his ‘alter-ego’.
Noah had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy after his diagnosis and is now in remission.
Michael said Red magazine of the ordeal: ‘That, of course, changed me in a big way: it changed what mattered to me, it changed the way I looked at life.
“For most of my life as an artist, and especially on stage, I became my alter ego. I would become the superhero I always wanted to be.
“Then my wife and I went through the unthinkable and I lost that alter ego.”

On maintaining a successful relationship, he added: ‘More than anything, my wife and I understand that each other’s fulfillment is important…
‘I’m not saying we’re perfect, no one is, but we both have that understanding.
“I won’t be on tour for certain months next year because she’s filming a movie, so I’ll be a dad on set, and then she’ll do the same for me.” We don’t care what we do, being together is the goal.’

Last year, Michael delved into how his life was thrown into chaos after his son Noah was diagnosed with cancer in a new interview.
The Canadian singer revealed to Sunday’s mirror that she was left feeling “so unstable and vulnerable” after Noah was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a type of liver cancer, in 2016 at age three.
He said: ‘I’ve been through a lot, obviously. when i made the last record [in 2018]My son had just gone into remission and I wasn’t ready to go back,” he explained.
“I didn’t know it at the time, but mentally I was very unstable and vulnerable. I made a safe record with producers I liked and just tried to protect myself and hold on to a career.
“But I feel really good now and I really wanted to go, like this big weight had been lifted off my shoulders. My son was healthy, my children and my wife were fine, life is good. Why wouldn’t I just blow up wanting to make an amazing record? he said.
Michael also shares children Elias, seven, Vida, four, and Cielo, five months, with Luisana.
