The 57-year-old filmmaker is facing charges over a 2018 incident when he was filming 6 Underground in Rome and a pigeon was reportedly killed by a wheelbarrow, according to the envelope.
The director, who was said to have “bumped” with Eiza González while filming his latest film, Ambulance, categorically denied the accusations.

A source also claims that the homing pigeon was killed by a dolly during the middle of a take.
An unidentified person on set reportedly witnessed the incident and took a photo, which he sent to the Italian authorities.

Pigeons are a protected species in Italy and there is a national law that prohibits killing, damaging or capturing pigeons or any other wild bird.
Regarding the photo that was sent to the Italian authorities, Bay affirms that they have evidence that questions the accusation.
“We have clear video evidence, a multitude of witnesses and security officials that exonerates us of these claims. And it refutes his only paparazzi photo, which gives a false story,” Bay said.

“The Italian authorities offered me the opportunity to settle this matter by paying a small fine, but I refused to do so because I would not plead guilty to harming an animal,” Bay explained.
