Micah Richards is MISSING from CBS’ Champions League coverage for Bayern Munich vs Manchester United… and Kate Abdo explains the bizarre reason why

  • Micah Richards should be on CBS with the return of the Champions League
  • But a conflict in his schedule caused him to disappear from the network on Wednesday.

Micah Richards is nowhere to be seen in CBS’ Champions League coverage, and host Kate Abdo has explained why he disappeared.

“It’s certainly a lot quieter in this studio today,” she cracked before explaining her colleague’s absence, while adding that “it would probably have to be something important – maybe a high-profile charity gala” for Richards to take time off work.

Abdo then played a clip of Richards taking part in the British game show “A League of Their Own” alongside Jamie Redknapp.

In the hilarious clip, ex-Man City star Richards can be seen clapping before launching into a belly slide.

“He chose this over the Champions League!” exclaimed his CBS colleague Jamie Carragher.

“Seriously?” asked Thierry Henry.

“What a clown,” Carragher added. “He would do anything for money, that man.”

Richards’ absence means he is not in the studio for Manchester United against Bayern Munich, while Real Madrid played and beat Union Berlin 1-0 earlier today.

Arsenal will also face PSV in their Champions League return, while Inter Milan travel to Real Sociedad.
