Miami police reveals the identity of cop placed on administrative duties after Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was dragged from his car and pinned down

The police officer assigned to administrative duties after Tyreek Hill’s arrest is veteran officer Danny Torres.

Miami-Dade police unmasked the officer Tuesday, a day after dramatic bodycam footage showed the Dolphins star being dragged from his car and handcuffed.

The wide receiver was pinned to the ground while en route to the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Torres has been with the police department for nearly 30 years, but he has been reassigned to administrative duties pending the investigation into the incident.

“Officer Danny Torres, a 27-year veteran, will continue to perform administrative duties as the Internal Affairs investigation remains ongoing,” the MDPD told CBS.

“We will provide further information as it becomes available, pending the outcome of the investigation.”

On Tuesday, police citations showed that Hill had been pulled over for reckless driving (which carries a $179 fine) and for not wearing a seat belt (which carries a $129 fine).

Before his identity was revealed, Torres’The torturers demanded his “immediate reinstatement” and called the decision to assign him to administrative duties “premature.”

But Hill’s agent and his teammate Jalen Ramsey have both called for the agents involved to be fired over their treatment of the NFL star.

On Monday night, the Dolphins described the bodycam video as “both maddening and heartbreaking.”

The team pledged to support Hill and called for “swift and forceful action” against the officers who engaged in “excessively aggressive,” “violent” and “despicable” behavior.

The receiver was dragged from his car and pushed onto the road. An officer kneeled on the receiver’s back and grabbed his hands while a fellow officer handcuffed him.

Hill was released minutes later, but not before his teammate Calais Campbell was also handcuffed.
