A Miami plastic surgeon has been accused of injecting a patient with blood contaminated with pea-sized plastic spheres.

She went to Schwarz for another round of the same treatments.
Schwarz’s attorney, Gregory Chaires, said the surgeon asked her before the surgery if she had implants or injections, and she said no.
Schwarz also had her sign a disclaimer, he said, warning that if any foreign objects were found inside her during the liposuction, they wouldn’t be able to move that material to her buttocks for the buttock lift, as it could cause long stretches. term problems.
“During the preoperative evaluation, Dr. Schwarz asked the patient whether she had received the injection of foreign material into her body, which the patient denied,” Chaires said.

Schwarz said he began operating on her, only to find that her blood was contaminated with plastic, which clogged the cannula.
He did not perform the procedure she wanted.
Chaires said the patient took legal action in January 2022 because she was angry about not getting a refund for the buttock lift, which the surgeon was unable to perform.
She accused him of “substandard care” and noted that in his account of the operation he said that some of her blood was injected into her buttocks.
Schwarz said that was a misunderstanding on the part of the person taking notes on the proceedings.
The surgeon denied her allegations but agreed to pay nearly $14,000 in fines and court costs in what his lawyer said was an attempt to get on with his life.
The agreement includes a $7,500 fine, $6,196.11 in administrative fees, three hours of medical record-keeping training and five hours of risk management.
Chaires said Schwarz did not accept her allegations of misconduct.
