Miami Dolphins star Jaelan Phillips finds an IGUANA in his toilet: ‘This is some Florida s**t if I’ve ever seen it’

Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips was stunned this week after finding an iguana in the toilet of his Miami home.

Phillips, who spent three seasons with the Dolphins after being selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, shared a hilarious video of the reptile in his toilet on X, expressing his confusion about the situation.

“This is some Florida s**t if I ever saw it,” the 24-year-old says at the beginning of the clip.

‘How on earth did he get in there? That man washes in my toilet, and he’s not a pet. I don’t know where he came from.’

He then jokes about the iguana’s size: “That’s a grown man!”

Phillips then told his followers that he spent $150 to have an exterminator come to handle the situation.

“I just want to know if he came there as a Ninja Turtle, or if he lived in the garage or something,” he added.

The video quickly went viral on social media, with ESPN’s First Take panel even talking about it on the latest episode of their show.

The Miami star shared a photo of Stephen A. Smith, Molly Qerim and Kendrick Perkins laughing at the clip and wrote, “Not them talking about my toilet dragon on ESPN” along with a laughing emoji.

Since joining the Dolphins in 2021, Phillips has recorded 22 sacks, 24 tackles for loss and three fumble recoveries.

He enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2023/24 before injury abruptly ended his campaign, with a ruptured Achilles tendon ruling him out for the year in late November.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel recently provided an update on both Phillips and fellow outside linebacker Bradley Chubb, who also suffered a season-ending injury last season.

“They’re doing great, day after day,” McDaniel said. “You have to keep an eye on both guys to make sure they don’t do too much.

“We’re just paying close attention to who the players are, that we get back to full health and that we really protect the Miami Dolphins from the individuals themselves, from doing too much too quickly.”
