The Dolphins confirmed after the game that Davis was conscious after being taken to Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville for further examination.
As a result of Davis’s situation, the preseason Finals was suspended – an increasingly common occurrence in the NFL.
Green Bay and New England chose to set the precedent for the season after the Pats’ rookie corner Isaiah Bolden was carried off in the fourth quarter. Incidentally, he was also acquitted the next day.
Davis was signed by the Dolphins as a non-drafted free agent from Western Kentucky.
The 24-year-old is listed as the Dolphins’ 11th wideout on their depth chart. He is unlikely to make the final 53-man roster.
