Miami Airport is plunged into lockdown amid reports of ‘woman stabbed multiple times’ – as footage shows passengers sprinting to safety

Miami International Airport is reportedly partially closed after reports of a woman being stabbed multiple times.

The alleged incident occurred sometime between the late evening hours of Saturday and the early morning hours of Sunday.

Miami-Dade police confirmed to DailyMail.com that the airport is closed, but declined to provide further details about the allegations until the investigation is complete, which the spokesperson said could take anywhere from five minutes to five hours.

The first report came from the ONLY DADE account on X, which referenced an Instagram post from someone claiming to be at the airport during the incident and the chaos that followed.

“#NEWS: Witnesses say a woman was recently stabbed multiple times at Miami International Airport,” the message on X reads.

“The suspect was reportedly taken into custody and bystanders assisted the victim until medical personnel arrived. We will update you as more information becomes available.”

A video capturing scenes at the Florida airport shows passengers running and fleeing.

Police officers also appeared to be on the scene.

Another passenger at the airport claimed on X that there had been a “security breach” at Miami International Airport: “We were about to board an Emirates flight to Dubai when we were asked to leave the terminal and evacuate. An hour later, still here. What is going on in Miami?”

The airport released a statement at 12:57 a.m. Sunday morning saying: “We are aware of an incident that occurred this evening in the international reception area of ​​Concourse J at Miami International Airport.”

It continued: ‘We would like to assure the public that the situation is under control and that the safety of our passengers, staff and visitors remains our top priority. The authorities responded immediately and the situation was quickly contained.
