Mexican singer Dulce La Cantante passes away at age 69 after health complications
Dulce La Cantante has died at the age of 69 due to health complications, her family confirmed on Christmas Day.
In a statement shared with the Instagram page of the late singerher loved ones revealed that the star had passed away, but asked for privacy as they mourned her death.
Dulce – whose real name is Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas – is known for hit tracks such as Dejame Volver Contigo (1982) and Soy Tu Dama (1985).
Her sister, Isabel Noeggerath, also announced the artist’s death Facebook and wrote: ‘Sister, you are already with our mother in heaven and singing to her: I will miss you, rest in peace, I love you.’
Producer Omar Suarez and Televisa Espectaculos also confirmed the star’s death — as did reporter Mario Manjarrez, per Hola.com.
“We know that the singer passed away early this morning,” he stated.

‘She suffered from lung problems and was on a strong medication regimen which deteriorated her health in the days leading up to her death, mainly due to kidney complications resulting from intensive treatment.’
While Dulce’s exact cause of death is not yet known, she was notably hospitalized earlier this month, prompting her to postpone some of her concerts.
Updates were posted to her main Instagram account at the time, and the singer herself wrote: “Dear friends, media and supporters, I would like to share that, on medical advice, I have been admitted to hospital due to a health problem that requires care and rest. ‘
“I am at peace with it, I am in good hands and hope for a full recovery,” she continued to her followers.
She underwent pleuropulmonary decortication surgery after being admitted to hospital a few weeks before Christmas.
The surgery is a “procedure that removes the pleura, the thin membrane covering the lungs, and any visible tumor masses from the lung surface,” he says. Yale Medicine.
The surgery “aims to preserve lung function during the treatment of conditions such as malignant pleural mesothelioma or chronic pleural infections.”

Dulce was born in the city of Matamoros, Mexico – and celebrated her 69th birthday earlier this summer in July.
She later moved to Monterrey to study psychology and eventually joined a band called Toby and His Friends in the early 1970s.
The star received support from singer José José to launch her own solo career and took part in the competition entitled Festival de Mallorca, according to the Latin times.
Dulce sang the song Senor Amor by Armando Manzanero and ultimately won Best Song, Best Performer and Most Photogenic Singer.
She later released hits in the 1980s such as Soy Una Dama and Dejame Volver Contigo. In 2014, the star dropped the song Tu Muñeca.

The performer also played roles in projects such as Mundo de Fieras (2006) and Las Vias del Amor (2002).
