Anna Wintour has fueled speculation that Taylor Swift could attend this year’s Met Gala, an annual fundraising event known as “fashion’s biggest night out.”

Jenna Bush Hager conducted a one-on-one interview with Vogue’s global editor-in-chief and later confirmed to her Today cohosts that she asked the 74-year-old if Taylor, 34, would be walking the famous steps on Monday night. .

Jenna, 42, recalled how the exchange went down and referred to her eldest daughter, saying, “I had to ask too, because Mila Hager asked if Taylor would be there, and she (Anna) said, ‘I hope she comes and enjoy the exhibition.”

“So that could be yes, that could be no, and that’s pretty much what the reports say,” Jenna added, while cohosts Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin seemed very intrigued.

“And your accent is on point,” Hoda, 59, joked, while Sheinelle, 46, — who is attending the Met Gala on Monday night — admitted, “You just turned me on.”

Elsewhere in the exclusive interview, Jenna asked Anna to confirm whether it was true that chives, onion and garlic had been banned from the menu on the star-studded evening.

“Those are three things I’m not really into, and so yeah, that’s true,” she replied with a grin on her face.

Anna also admitted that there may have been some ‘confusion’ when it came to this year’s theme, which was Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, and said this year’s exhibition broke her ‘cardinal rule’.

‘We came up with the title Sleeping Beauties. It’s amazing, it’s poetic, it’s romantic, but actually it can be a lot of things,” she told Jenna.

That, combined with Garden of Time’s dress code, may have sent mixed signals, she says.

“I fear we have caused a lot of confusion, for which I sincerely apologize,” she added.

When asked how she’s feeling in the days leading up to the Met Gala, Anna revealed: ‘It’s relatively calm. Everything is in the details. We plan these evening exhibitions so far in advance that if we are not relatively calm at this point, we will be in big, big trouble.”

Last week, it was reported that Taylor and her football player boyfriend, Travis Kelce, would not be attending this year’s gala.

The Shake It Off hitmaker, who recently released her new album The Tortured Poets Department, would skip the high fashion event for a simpler reason: her conflicting tour schedule.

Instead, Taylor is preparing to continue her highly successful Eras Tour, performing at La Défense Arena in Paris on Thursday, May 9.

Further, TMZ reported earlier in April that Taylor and Travis, also 34, would be skipping the prestigious event, although neither has spoken publicly about the reason for their decision to postpone.
