Meshel Laurie has doubled down on his searing tirade against Em Rusciano after he falsely accused the comedian of ‘faking’ his autism diagnosis.

The podcaster, 49, accused Em of “jumping on the bandwagon” over his influence and refuses to back down despite thousands calling him out on social media.

“As an exhausted mother of a child with ASD, I stand by what I have said about certain adults known to seek attention and their recent posts about their diagnoses,” she wrote.

“Next time you hear an adult celebrity say they’re on the spectrum, please whisper in your mind, fuck off you successful motherfucker. You’re obviously not very far on the spectrum.

‘Our education system only recognized this shit and learned to deal with it ten years ago. You are lying,” she added.

Rusciano was diagnosed with autism last November, just a year after being diagnosed with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

On Saturday afternoon, Rusciano shared a response to Laurie’s rant in a lengthy Instagram post.

She uploaded a photo of herself looking relaxed in a floral dress along with a caption begging fans to leave ‘troubled’ Laurie alone.

Meshel also posted a lengthy rant on Facebook calling out “attention-seeking” celebrities by discussing their ASD diagnosis on social media.

She wrote: ‘Who would have thought that being grateful that a stadium had a sensory room would turn out to be what it did?

‘I’m exhausted TBH and I don’t have the heart for a theme reboot. I had to resist the urge to write a song parodying Kasey Chambers’ smash hit ‘Not Pretty Enough’ and insert ‘Autistic’; it’s too early for that.

‘It looks like Meshel is making it difficult at the moment and I’ve been there. Don’t get me wrong, what she wrote was completely wrong and hurt my feelings. I don’t want the comments to turn into attacks on Meshel,’ she concluded.

Rusciano’s supporters were quick to praise her for taking the right path during this difficult time.
