An elderly man has died after falling from a three-story building in a popular beachside suburb.
Emergency services were called to the complex in Mermaid Beach, on the Gold Coast, shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday.
Police had received reports of a seriously injured man after he fell from a balcony.

Paramedics were unable to resuscitate the critically injured man in his sixties
The man in his 60s suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene despite desperate efforts to save him.
Police remained on scene and cordoned off the building while an investigation into the man’s tragic death was launched.
It is currently unknown from what level the man has fallen.
Police do not consider the man’s death suspicious at this time.
