Men’s fashion expert delivers blistering takedown of $100,000 gold watch collection Donald Trump is trying to sell to his followers
A menswear expert has given his opinion on Donald Trump’s gold watch collection, calling it a ‘crappy’ product.
The former president announced Thursday that he will sell a series of limited-edition gold and diamond-encrusted watches with his name on them.
Trump said on the Truth Social platform that the “official Trump Watch Collection is here, and these watches are truly special – you’re going to love them.”
The range of watches, including the Trump Victory Tourbillon Watches, will retail from $499 to $100,000, and each customer will receive a signed letter from the presidential candidate.
However, menswear expert Derek Guy, who goes by his username @dieworkwear and has over 1.1 million followers, was unimpressed.
The Republican campaigner concluded his announcement by saying, “It’s time for Trump.”
Trump said each Trump Victory Tourbillon watch will be numbered – he owns watch number 1 – and that it is a “true collector’s item… owning one puts you in a very exclusive club.”
The former president described the Trump Victory Tourbillon watch as ‘this isn’t just any watch, it’s one of the best watches ever made’
Guy reposted Trump’s ad video, noting that the watches were only priced so high because of Trump’s attachment, rather than because of the quality.
He wrote: ‘I don’t understand how anyone can do this to their supporters. This crappy $100,000 watch is a halo product to sell even crappier $500 and $800 non-Swiss steel and gold plated watches with a cheap automatic movement.
‘They make you look like a loser. The goal here is just to make money.”
In his announcement, the former president described the Trump Victory Tourbillon Watch: “This is not just any watch, it is one of the finest watches ever made,” of which there will only be 147 in existence.

The watch contains almost 200 grams of gold and “more than 100 real diamonds,” he adds: “That’s a lot of diamonds. I love gold, I love diamonds – we all do.”
Guy said, “$100,000 for a movement as smooth as the brain that buys this absurd thing.”

Other critics, such as MSNBC host Willie Geist, have said, “It’s getting very expensive to be a Donald Trump supporter.”
The announcement of his new line of watches comes days after he began selling limited-edition silver medallions called “Trump Coins” for $100, Trump said in a video message on Truth Social.
The former president called the coins a “true symbol of American greatness” and a selection of his watches “a symbol of determination.”

In an effort to deter claims of monetization from his campaign, the website clearly states that the watches are not “designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J Trump.”

Trump has already sold the famous red MAGA hats, as well as issuing $99 trading cards featuring his mugshot, “Never Surrender” sneakers for $399 and “God Bless the USA” Bibles for $59.99, as part of his campaign fundraising.

The watches are currently available for pre-order on the Trump Watches website.
