The suspected gunman who killed three women and a teenage girl was found dead after committing suicide during a massive manhunt in Memphis, Tennessee.

Police found the body of Mavis Christian Jr., 52, early Sunday morning while searching for him in connection with a four-hour killing spree that also left one teenager injured.

He is accused of killing a woman and a 13-year-old girl and leaving a 15-year-old girl seriously injured in a property before fatally shooting another woman in a different home at 6:40 p.m.

Christian is also suspected of shooting a fourth woman in a separate incident at 9:22 p.m. Police said he fled each scene in a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.

Police were looking for Christian on Saturday in connection with a series of domestic violence shootings

“He was pronounced deceased at the scene,” officers noted.

Authorities describe the attacks as domestic violence and say Christian is a relative of the victims.

Police were first called to Field Lark Drive, where they discovered three women had been shot, two of them dead and one injured.

The injured victim was transported to Regional One Health hospital for treatment.

A third woman was killed at 5050 Warrington Road around 6:40 p.m. and a fourth woman was fatally shot at a third address at 196 Howard Drive around 9:22 p.m.

“Preliminary information indicates this was a domestic violence incident and the suspect is a known family member who fled each scene in a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu,” police said.

Christian is accused of killing a woman and a 13-year-old girl and leaving a 15-year-old girl seriously injured at one property, and then killing two others at two different locations.

After a multi-jurisdictional manhunt by local, state and federal agencies, Christian’s body was found in the same car in which he fled.

Police said: “Thanks to the combined efforts of law enforcement, the community and the media, the suspect was quickly located without additional loss of life.”

Authorities have not said what led to the killings.

The police investigation is still ongoing.
