The Little Mermaid is the beloved fairy tale of Ariel, a beautiful and feisty young mermaid with a thirst for adventure, based on the classic tale by Hans Christen Anderson.
Ariel, the youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most rebellious, longs to learn more about the world beyond the sea and falls for the impetuous Prince Eric while visiting the surface.
Although mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, allowing her to experience life on land, but ends up putting her life – and her father’s crown – in danger.
Last week, Melissa took to Instagram to cheer up the new movie and shared a promotional image showing off her character.
Engaging her 11.8 million followers, she writes, “One more month before I can share this fever dream with everyone!!”
