Teen fights for life after stabbing on a bus when a fight broke out with another boy – just weeks after a similar incident at a bus stop claimed the life of a 16-year-old

A teenager is fighting for his life after being stabbed during a fight on a bus, two weeks after another Melbourne teenager was stabbed to death at a bus stop.
Two boys were boarding a bus in Preston, in the northeast of the city, at around 4:15 p.m. Friday when they got involved in an altercation.
The victim, in his late teens, suffered injuries to his upper body and was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He remains in critical condition.
The other teen got off the bus and fled on foot.
According to witnesses, the bus was traveling on Murray Road in the direction of Brunswick at the time of the altercation.

Police cordoned off 100 yards from Murray Road and spent several hours on Friday evening interviewing witnesses and examining the crime scene for evidence.
Firefighters also saw blood spraying down the footpath and road, the Herald Sun reported.
The alleged attacker remains a fugitive.
“There are no updates at this time, the investigation is ongoing,” a spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia on Saturday.

In another incident, a 37-year-old man was also stabbed Friday afternoon during a fight at a Sunshine Centrelink facility.

The latest incidents come days after 16-year-old Melton South schoolboy Pasawm Lyhym was killed in broad daylight.
The aspiring trader was fatally stabbed at Sunshine bus station on May 18.
He was on his way to the cinema to watch the new Fast and Furious movie with his older brother Mawn.
Pasawm’s death sparked an outpouring of tributes from family, friends, his school and Melbourne’s Chin community.
A 17-year-old boy from Hillside turned himself in to police on Tuesday evening and was later charged with murder.
He appeared in Melbourne Children’s Court where he was taken into custody. He did not apply for bail.
The teenager will appear in court again in June.
A 17-year-old from Caroline Springs and an 18-year-old from Burnside were previously questioned by police and later released without charge pending further inquiries.
The investigation by homicide detectives into Pasawm’s death continues.
