The Melbourne primary school teacher asked her 22 students to draw their 'dream monster' and surprised them weeks later with a unique stuffed toy modeled after her artwork.

Kit drew a yellow, green and gray caterpillar with spikes on its back that she named DooDoo and, along with her classmates, was surprised when she received her special toy two months later.

Your monsters have come to life. It’s pretty amazing,” she said, adding that the teacher made the toys on her own.

‘He said: ‘I love my monster and now I can keep it to remember the preparation and [my teacher].’

She said Kit was “so, so excited” and “making all her excited faces, she told her mom about her new toy.

She said that Kit told her that she loves her monster and the sweet gift showed her how much the teacher loves him.

Another of the student’s parents, Reid, delighted users on Twitter after sharing a series of images of the various toys the children received from their beloved teacher.

‘My son’s teacher made toys for his class based on his drawings. Pay teachers more,’ she said in one of her tweets.

His tweets have gone viral with more than 130,000 likes, and he told SBS that his daughter brought her new toy on vacation to show her extended family.

Reid said the teacher had done the same thing to her students in the past and said it was an example of why teachers should be paid more.

‘Apparently, during [the COVID-19] during the lockdown, I would go around the neighborhood and leave the toys at each child’s house,” he said.

‘Teachers are the people our children spend half their waking hours with. They help create the people those children will become. There are countless stories of people crediting inspiring teachers for their own success.’

Reid said the teacher had done the same thing to her students in the past and said it was an example of why teachers should be paid more.

SBS tried to contact the teacher, who said she felt “very appreciated” for the positive response on social media, but wanted to remain anonymous.

Reid started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the generous teacher and encouraged people to donate to local schools in her area.

He warned that other Twitter accounts impersonated him and started their own scam campaigns to raise funds, so they should be cautious and only donate to the link on his page. @ReidParker_.
