Melbourne social scene in shock as fashion icon Shiva Singam dies at age 50 – as his cause of death is revealed
Melbourne fashion icon Shiva Singam died on Saturday aged 50.
The popular fashionista, who worked as head of partnerships at the Melbourne Fashion Festival, has died of suspected health complications.
His sister Janee shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, alongside a glowing photo of Shiva posing in the storm.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of our son, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend, Shiva,” she began.
“Shiva was an amazing, funny, intelligent and thoughtful man. He touched many lives with his magnetic personality and generous spirit.

“He leaves behind thousands of friends who remember his kindness, big heart, humor and amazing fashion sense,” she continued.
“We are so grateful that he was surrounded by loyal and loving friends until today, and we know that you were a constant source of strength, love, laughter and inspiration in his life.”
“We will provide additional information to celebrate Shiva’s life over the next few days,” she added.
Many of Singam’s celebrity friends rushed to pay their respects to their dear friend.
Neighbors star Sharon Johal said she and husband Ankur have been in tears since learning the sad news.
“I don’t think I’ll ever find the words to say.” Anx and I are still in disbelief and the tears, sadness and pits in our stomachs aren’t going anywhere, anytime soon,” she wrote on Instagram.
‘Shiva, you are a unique personality, an icon in the fashion space, the life of EVERY party, the most entertaining Queen/Count drama, but most importantly, an incredibly generous and caring brother, son and our great friend.
“The world is not the same without you my friend, and every heart you touched will forever carry a hole. We have all lost a part of ourselves. Your presence and aura was magnificent and will never be forgotten. I’ll be looking for you at every party, and you’ll always be there, always present and steadfast, reminding us all to live life to the fullest, just like you did. You will always be remembered,” she continued.
Sharon’s announcement was followed by touching tributes from Alex Pike, The Block’s Tanya Guccione and The Bachelorette’s Lee Elliott and socialite Olivia Molly Rogers.

Meanwhile, Nadia Bartel said Herald Sun he was a ‘special person’.
“He would always go out of his way to chat with you and pick you up with a big smile on his face,” she said. ‘He was the nicest man.’
