  • A driver left his ute and smashed another driver’s side mirror with a kick
  • Second driver was only spared further damage when traffic suddenly started moving

A violent traffic accident goes viral on the internet after a shocked driver captures the moment when two Melburnians nearly collided on one of the city’s busiest highways.

The incident on Melbourne’s M1 started with coffee cup throwing but quickly escalated, starting when one driver cut off the other, according to witnesses.

The person who filmed the incident said they’saw the man in the white ute throw his coffee at that car and started following him.”

“First he got out and started cursing at him and got back in his ute,” the cameraman added.

“Then the other man decided to drive past him to throw his coffee at the ute and run away, only to get stuck in traffic.”

The stationary traffic allowed the ute driver to ramp things up by running, jumping and karate kicking the driver-side mirror of the Volkswagen, which slammed into the road.

The man, wearing a hoodie and shorts, then yelled swear words at the motorist and gave him two rude fingers.

The man ran around to the left of the car when traffic started moving again, allowing the Volkswagen driver to flee.

The man in the hoodie was in the air and about to connect to the left side mirror when traffic conditions suddenly improved, allowing the driver to keep his other mirror.

The first commentator criticized the incident with road rage, saying it was “un-Australian”.

“You can’t pick and choose only the good stuff (of Australia),” another commenter replied.

Another said they “understand the anger, but kicking mirrors sucks.”

“His second kick to the opposite mirror, however, was a huge failure and quite funny,” she added.

However, some were impressed by the mirror kicker’s movements and agility.

“A man took karate lessons when he was a kid,” one wrote.

But others hoped the video would help police find the man.
