Earthquake in Melbourne: Dozens wake up by tremors

Dozens of Melburnians have been rocked by an early morning earthquake.

A magnitude 2.2 earthquake struck at a depth of 10km with an epicenter near Roxburgh Park in Melbourne’s north at 4.29am on Monday, according to data from Geoscience Australia.

The impact was also felt in Meadow Heights, Craigieburn and Greenvale.

At least 28 Victorians reported feeling the quake.

“Here we go again,” said one, while another added: “another one? Jesus!’

Others revealed that they were awake at the time, but did not feel the quake.

According to Victoria’s State Emergency Service, no reports of damage have been recorded.

The latest earthquake comes 31 days after the last tremors the city felt in Bacchus Marsh, Melton, Narre Warren South and Geelong.
