Melbourne Airport checkin issues: Major delays

Massive system downtime is leading to major delays at Melbourne Airport, preventing passengers from checking in for international flights

There are long delays at Melbourne Airport, preventing passengers from checking in for international flights.

A customer posted the news on Twitter on Thursday morning, writing, “all international check-ins at @Melair are down and have been for 30 minutes. Long queues are now forming.

Melbourne Airport responded to the post and confirmed the issue.

“There was an ABF technology issue that has now been resolved. All international flights continue to check in,” the airport wrote.

However, the customer claimed that he had been “at the front of the check-in and they say the system is still not working.”

A Melbourne Airport spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that the Australian Border Force’s system was down for “most of the morning” and that the problem was nationwide.

The spokesperson said check-in for international flights is still going ahead, but is “a lot slower than usual.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted the ABF for comment.

More to come.
