Melania Trump is known for her classic style, including a fresh blow-dry and a rounded French manicure.
However, the former First Lady revealed a surprising style change during a formal dinner at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
The former model was on hand to support her husband, Donald Trump, 78, when he hosted Akie Abe, the widow of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, 62, on Sunday.
“It was a privilege to host Ms. Akie Abe again at Mar-a-Lago,” Melania, 54, posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“We took great pleasure in remembering her late husband, former Prime Minister Abe, and honoring his remarkable legacy,” she told her 3.1 million followers.
In the photo she shared, Melania appears to debut a brand new nail shape, featuring long claws with a tapered tip in a wintery shade of white with a metallic tint.
In the past, the incoming First Lady has always been photographed with a white-on-white French manicure, which was reflected in her often placing her hand over her heart during official appearances.
She has even been seen with a matching French pedicure on her toes.

It’s fitting that the French manicure, despite its name, originated in Hollywood and not France.
The famous French manicure became a universal style in the ’70s, as women flocked to salons for the now classic style.
American film producer Jeff Pink, founder ORLYcreated the natural nail look as a way to help actresses save time before changing their wardrobe on set.
The mani then became popular on the catwalks of Paris and has received several makeovers over the years with pops of color and thinner, trendy curves.
Melania has always remained true to the original design.
While Melania raved about the dinner at X, Trump claimed in 2017 that the Japanese First Lady did not speak English.
Trump told The New York Times that at a dinner at the G20, he sat “next to Prime Minister Abe’s wife, who I think is a great guy, and she’s a great woman, but she doesn’t speak English.”
After the NYT reporter asked, “Zero?” Trump responded: “Like, not ‘hello.’”

Despite his claims, she was seen on camera giving a 15-minute speech in English at the High-Level Symposium on Coastal Resilience on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
This isn’t the only style change the Slovenian-American has made in recent days as her husband prepares for his second term in office.
Incoming Vice President JD Vance, 40, shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) on December 12 that showed Melania wearing hair extensions.
The Hillbilly Elegy author posted a behind-the-scenes look at Melania and the former Apprentice host watching the New York Stock Exchange on a television that apparently showed her clip-in hair.
London-based hairstylist Julia North confirmed to DailyMail.com that she appears to be wearing ‘tape-in or beaded-row extensions’.
“You can see the telltale signs where the natural hair meets the extensions, especially visible in the mid-sections,” the hair extension specialist revealed.
