Melania has ‘quietly renegotiated her prenup’ with Trump ahead of his bid for a second White House term and legal drama – and is ‘most concerned’ about getting a sizeable trust fund for Barron
Former first lady Melania Trump has reportedly renegotiated her prenuptial agreement with Donald Trump ahead of his possible second term.
The updated terms reportedly cover finances and property, and are intended to expand a trust fund set up for the couple’s only son, 17-year-old Barron, Page Six reported.
It is believed to be at least the third time the couple has renegotiated the agreement, which was originally drafted around the time they married nearly two decades ago in 2005.
In addition, sources familiar with their case have revealed the alleged amendment that seeks to create “substantial trust” for their teenage son, as the 77-year-old Trump is set to pay some $5 million to author E. Jean Carroll after losing a defamation battle in New York.
Currently, the ex-head of state – who is reportedly worth $2.5 billion – is currently facing four felony charges in connection with an ongoing civil case against him and his companies for another $250 million in The Big Apple.

The updated terms reportedly cover both finances and property, and are intended to increase the size of the trust for the couple’s only son, 17-year-old Barron.
Without going into details, insiders told the entertainment company about some of the key sticking points of the couple’s latest ‘postnup’.
“This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her military agreement,” says the unnamed source, who Page Six reports is “close” to the former commander-in-chief’s third wife.
The insider reportedly added that the changes are less in anticipation of Trump’s potential second term, and more in anticipation of his mounting legal battles.
They told the newspaper: “This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battle… (Trump) has suffered.”
The source further revealed what they said was the main crux of the alleged agreement: 53-year-old Melania’s concerns about the future of her only child, the youngest of Trump’s five children.
According to the Page Six report, published Thursday, “Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing substantial trust in (Barron),” who turns 18 in March.
The person added about Trump’s ongoing lawsuits — including a massive $250 million civil case from New York AG Letitia James — “Trump remains very wealthy, but with mounting legal bills and judgments, (the renegotiations) offer a more solid future ‘ for Melania and Barron in case of split.
“It’s not like she threatened to leave him,” the source added, specifying that the former first lady has no plans to leave the aspiring president.
However, they added: “It’s absolutely the underlying idea.”

James’ filing alleges that the Trump Organization implemented a 15-year plan to help its top executives pay their proper taxes
Trump – who is reportedly worth $2.5 billion – recently had to pay more than $5 million to E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in the dressing room of a New York clothing store in the mid-1990s. She is seen smiling after her victory in New York federal court in May
Currently, the current frontrunner of the Republican Party is also facing four felony charges. The claims were fabricated to tarnish his image and strengthen the AG’s position.
A second source who also claimed to be aware of the deal added: ‘I know she wanted it to make her more money, and also – from what I understand – there is at least a specific amount that Barron would should get.
James’ lawsuit, filed in November, alleges that the Trump Organization engaged in a 15-year scheme to help its top executives avoid the proper taxes required in New York City — to which Trump has pleaded not guilty.
As for the verdict involving Carroll, the politician paid $2 million to the New York newspaper for alleged sexual abuse in 1996, as well as $20,000 in damages — and another $1 million for an incident deemed defamation last October.
An additional $1.7 million was paid for damage to Carroll’s reputation, as well as another $280,000 in damages related to that suit.
Trump has since appealed that ruling, paving the way for even more legal bills.
Meanwhile, also in New York, Trump has been indicted on 34 counts for allegedly falsifying business records related to his $150,000 payment to Stormy Daniels through fixer lawyer Michael Cohen. His trial is scheduled for March and he has repeatedly expressed his plans to plead not guilty.
In Florida, Trump faces more charges over his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House — to which he pleaded not guilty earlier this month, waiving his summons to appear at a hearing.
The politician’s most immediate legal concerns, however, are his case in Georgia, which had a tentative trial date of March 4, 2024, but was recently pushed back to next month after one of Trump’s co-defendants asserted his constitutional right to a trial. speedy trial.
Trump, meanwhile, has moved to postpone two of his upcoming trials – in Florida and a federal trial in DC over the January 6 insurrection – both until April 2026, well after the upcoming presidential election.
Trump has not yet commented on the insiders’ claims after missing the second Republican debate on Wednesday evening. Yet he remains well ahead in most polls.
