Megyn Kelly will host her first interview in seven years with former President Donald Trump next week β€” and viewers can expect the long-awaited talk to be heavy and “spicy.”

The host of The Megyn Kelly Show shared the news in a Twitter video and announced that the in-person interview will air on SiriusXM at noon next Thursday.

Kelly expressed her enthusiasm and assured viewers that the interview would be nothing short of captivating.

“I’m really looking forward to this,” she said in the video. “It’s going to be great, it’s going to be spicy and it’s going to be tough, but it’s going to be good and hopefully we’re both going to enjoy it.”

This interview marks their first on-air talk since May 2016, when their relationship was marked by a heated feud that climaxed during the 2015 Republican primary.

Kelly hinted at the depth of their upcoming discussion, saying, “We’ll have plenty of time to get into a variety of topics in person.”

She expressed her gratitude for Trump’s agreement to the interview and stressed that she is neither a critic of Trump nor a sycophant.

β€œI’m very glad he agreed. He doesn’t say “yes” to everyone, she said. And to his credit, Donald Trump knows I’m not someone who suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome like the vast majority of people in the media, but I’m not a sycophant either, so I’m not going to. go in there and be a shoe liker.”

“I’m really looking forward to bringing you this and much more,” the journalist added. “It’s going to be fun, and he’s handling it just fine.”

Former acting director of US National Intelligence Ric Grenell joined Kelly to discuss the interview, praising her tough but fair approach to interviews.

“So many people have been thinking about the last time you interviewed him,” Grenell said of the anticipated interview.

β€œI kind of flashed back when you were talking about us being in your studio at Fox when we both worked at Fox which was during the presidential election (elections) and we had so many times we talked to Trump about different issues ,’ he added.

‘And I think it’s true. I think you were tough, and I think the way you just put it is that you’re not a never-Trumper, but you’re not a sycophant either. And thanks to Donald Trump. He does interviews where he mixes everything up and isn’t afraid to get into it.’

Acknowledging Trump’s undeniable charisma, Kelly reflected on their past conflicts and responded, “There’s no doubt he has a natural magnetism. Whether you love him or hate him, that is beyond dispute. I’m sorry, it’s just a fact.’

“He walks into the room even before he was president, but mostly mail and there’s an atmosphere that needs attention,” she added. ‘That’s just who he is. It’s a celebrity life and now he’s really going to be the most famous man in the world. So I’m very glad that all that nonsense between us is water under the bridge.’

‘The left panicked because of those comments, entire podcasts were devoted to those comments. Like ‘Oh my God, what happened to Megyn Kelly? She’s bent the knee.’ They want me to hate him for some reason. They need as many foils against Donald Trump as they can get. And if they think you’re one, and it turns out you’re not, they become apoplectic. It’s like a robot chip malfunctioning.’

The interview announcement comes just two months after Kelly sent kind words to Trump, marking a major turn in their turbulent relationship.

In July, Kelly spoke out about her relationship with Trump β€” years after she entered a bitter feud with the Republican both online and on national television.

The comments came during a Monday taping of the Megyn Kelly Show and seemed to put the couple’s long-held animosity in the rearview mirror.

Kelly’s praise came after she said she enjoyed a private, “one-on-one” conversation with the 77-year-old rioter, who just a few years ago labeled her “crazy” and a “bimbo.”

Kelly said it was “honestly great to see him,” referring to meeting the former president at a Turning Point USA conference in Palm Beach.

β€œWhen he entered the arena we only met one on one, his team was close by, but he and I had a one on one together for the first time in years and it was honestly great to see him. ‘

Of their previous disputes β€” including a particularly vitriolic post-debate joke by Trump that seemed to reduce her questions to the words of someone who is menstruating β€” Kelly said, β€œAll that bullshit between us is under the bridge.

“He couldn’t have been more generous,” she added.
