Megyn Kelly obliterates MSNBC host Joy Reid for ripping into Moms for Liberty co-founder wanting to ban book that features underage kids discussing sex toys: ‘If she wants to expose her kid to that stuff, she can go right ahead’

Megyn Kelly blasted Joy Reid after the MSNBC host criticized the Moms for Liberty co-founder for advocating banning an explicit sex book from schools.

“I don’t want to know about Joy Reid’s strange sexual preferences or what she thinks is good content for minors, but it’s not the same as what I think,” she said.

“And if she wants to expose her child to those kinds of things, she can just do it on her own time and for her own money.”

The commentator also hit back at Reid for asking the Justice Department for her “expertise” in questioning the veracity of the memoir All Boys Aren’t Blue, a title banned in 29 counties across the country.

‘What is your expertise in making it clear that a book about strap-on dildos or pedophilia or anal rape by a family member does not belong in libraries and schools for primary and secondary education?’ Kelly asked.

Reid had questioned the Justice Department: “What is the expertise that you and those other Moms for Liberty advocates have to decide that a book, an award-winning book… is not appropriate for student reading?”

Justice responded, “In what context is a strap-on acceptable in public school, I mean that’s my question to you.”

Reid declined to answer that question, instead claiming that Justice could not name the author George M. Johnson. Justice did indeed know the author’s first name.

Kelly noted that studies have been done to show why this material is unsuitable for children.

“There are many scientific articles and books by experts about the harm children suffer from being exposed to this type of content too early,” she said.

“And most good parents are pretty vigilant about making sure our kids don’t have access to that kind of stuff.” We put blocks on their phones if they have phones… all kinds of things and the last thing you want to think about is when you send them to school that’s when they’re at their most dangerous.

That’s when they are most exposed to stories about anal rape and strap-on dildos.’

Kelly insisted that books like these not be put into schools “from my tax dollars, while my child might be sitting next to her child reading a beautiful book about love, about bullies, about history.” It’s absurd to pretend it’s a ban because you can’t get it in the school library!’

Johnson’s ‘memoir manifesto’ includes a chapter dealing with the sexual abuse he suffered as a child, including by a member of his own family. It contains graphic descriptions of sex, including lube, dildos and anal penetration.

Reid spoke to Justice about her expertise and parental rights. Justice replied: ‘I don’t have to be an expert to know that dildos are not suitable for public schools’

Reid told Justice during the interview, “What I’m saying to you is that you are not an expert on this book.”

Justice responded, “I don’t need to be an expert to know that dildos are not appropriate for public schools, I mean, come on, let’s be honest.”

Reid asked why a parent whose child might feel seen by this story wouldn’t have the right to have it read.

Justice responded by saying that if a child feels seen by this story, it means he has been the victim of a predator.

Reid then accused her of once again claiming to be an expert and asked her for proof that a child had been raped.

A central chapter of All Boys Aren’t Blue focuses on the sexual abuse that author Johnson experienced around the age of thirteen.

In September, Senator John Kennedy read a passage from the memoir at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

Quoting the book verbatim, he told the hearing: ‘I put some lube on and put him on his knees, and I started sliding into him from behind. I pulled out of him and kissed him while he masturbated. He asked me to turn over while he put a condom on himself.

‘This was my ass and I had a hard time imagining anyone inside me. He came on top and slowly inserted himself into me. It was the worst pain I think I’ve ever felt in my life. In the end I felt a mix of pleasure and pain.’

During the MSNBC interview, the two discussed an “opt-out form” available in Broward County, Florida, that allows parents to say their child cannot borrow books from the library without their permission.

“Maybe we can just put all the books with all the explicit sexual content, the dildos and the rapes there,” Justice said.

Reid said, “I’m so sorry, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. I’ve seen tapes of what Moms For Liberty does, and you all go to school board meetings and you read graphic things.”

Justice said, “Joy, this is an unfair conversation. America always understood that there was such a thing as age-appropriate content.”

In June, Moms for Liberty was added to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of “hate and anti-government groups” after receiving national media attention for its efforts to combat COVID safety measures in schools, banning books and limit discussion about race and LGBTQ. identities and populate local school boards with conservatives.

The group’s other co-founder, Bridget Ziegler, has faced calls to resign from the Sarasota school board after her husband Christian Ziegler was accused of raping a woman “who was part of their menage-a- threeis.’
