Meghan Trainor is candid about achieving pop stardom after the release of her song All About That Bass.

In an interview with CNN, the 28-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that her schedule became overwhelming after the song kicked off in 2014.

“My health couldn’t keep up,” she revealed. “I have bronchitis all the time. I was so sick and didn’t know how to take care of myself.’

She was also asked by interviewer Chris Wallace about the controversy surrounding the song. While some praised it, others found it an embarrassment to naturally skinny individuals.

‘I was so naive about what happened’ [with that]she admitted. “I was so sure every door would finally open. I’ve finally worked so hard that now everyone wants to work with me and that would be easy now.’

Despite these initial beliefs, Trainor said she quickly learned that wouldn’t be the case.
