MEGHAN MCCAIN: Wow, Dems and the liberal media sure calmed down about White House document stashes

A round of applause for the Democrats and their left-wing partisan waterboys in the mainstream media.

You have outdone yourself once again!

In their mad dash to cover for President Joe Biden in the midst of his classified documents scandal, they have managed to do U-turns in almost every major post they have taken in recent months.

When President Donald Trump was discovered to be storing sensitive materials at Mar-a-Lago, he was a threat to national security, an open criminal, and unfit to hold high office again.

But now that Biden has done something similar, they are singing a different tune. I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but this verbal gymnastics is too daring, the logical contortions too painful to ignore.

Where do I begin?

Remember the term ‘fake news’ popularized by you-know-who. Left pundits are bringing it back.

My former ‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar declared: ‘You know what I think? I have never seen a luckier person than Donald Trump. Just when we’re so close to catching him, these documents somehow turn up!’

Hey?

We know how the documents came to be. The White House said Biden’s personal lawyer found them.

‘Does this look like an opp investigation to you? Do you feel like the Republicans are behind this?’ suggested Sunny Hostin.

No, he does not do it.

But thanks for participating.

Democratic Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA) went even further. He speculated that the documents may have been part of an elaborate conspiracy to frame the president.

“Things can be planted in people,” he said. ‘Things can be planted in places and then conveniently discovered. That may be what has happened here. I do not rule. But I’m open in terms that the research needs to be investigated.’

By all means, investigate the investigation. But first, Congressman, ask yourself this question: Who would have the wherewithal and the foresight to steal top-secret White House documents, secretly hide them in Biden’s office and Wilmington home, only to be discovered years later? after?

Is there a cabal of time-traveling Republican ninja agents on the loose?

Applying Occam’s razor to this mystery, I gather that Biden probably just screwed up; whether there was criminal intent behind that gaffe remains to be determined.

The Democratic pushback did not stop there.

After Trump’s illicit library was discovered, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) increased it to 11.

‘Donald Trump stole classified documents. He put at risk not only our national security, but also the security of our allies around the world. He must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” he tweeted.

Can you guess what he said about Biden’s personal stash?

“Certainly there is a political issue for all of us as Democrats, but I think there are significant differences and I think it’s important to look at the fact that this president is fully cooperating with the investigation,” he told CNN.

He sure seems to have calmed down.

After the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, Democrats demanded to know who had been there and when. That’s not unreasonable considering there were classified documents in the building.

So what does the Biden White House say about the release of visitor logs to Biden’s Wilmington home?

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre simply dodged the question in a very embarrassing moment, and that says a lot when it comes to KJP.

Biden himself came out on ’60 Minutes’ and shamed Trump for taking material from the White House.

‘How can that happen? How can someone be so irresponsible?’ Biden asked. “I thought what data was there that can compromise sources and methods…just irresponsible.”

Good Joe. What do you have to say for yourself now?

“My Corvette is in a locked garage,” Biden said Thursday in a brief improvisation, as he read a canned response to yelling reporters. ‘So, it’s not like I’m sitting on the street.’

Oh, in that case: Call off the search!

Rest assured, America’s secret sources and methods are secure.

Biden closed the garage door.

The list goes on and on, but let me close with this tip.

At the start of the Biden administration, they pledged to be the most transparent White House in modern American history. Obviously, they have not come to that, as I have written before.

In this case, the White House insists that the only thing that distinguishes the Biden document debacle from the Trump one is that Biden has been completely honest and cooperative with the Department of Justice from the beginning.

That is not the case either.

The documents were first discovered in Biden’s personal private office in Washington, DC on November 2, about a week before the 2022 midterm elections.

The White House did not publicly disclose the discovery until January 9, almost two months later and only after it was reported in the media.

How about that transparency?

And then there’s this, reporting that a major factor behind Attorney General Merrick Garland’s decision to appoint an independent investigator to investigate this fiasco was that the White House statements were misleading and ‘gave the impression that the Biden team had something to hide.’

The American people are used to egregious double standards, but the saddest part is that the left-wing partisan media and politicians just don’t seem to care. All your talk about honesty and the wear and tear of democracy is pure talk.

When a Democrat is in trouble, there’s no Alex Jones-level conspiracy he won’t stoop to. There is no reality that they do not deny.

We see many Americans turning away from traditional media and politicians towards independent media and unorthodox leaders, and this is exactly why.

We are all hurt by this. Arguably, mistrust in our institutions is America’s greatest domestic threat. If the left really cared about the health of our democracy, they would start to admit the obvious, because they are fooling no one.
