MEGHAN MCCAIN: Ex-ABC News adulterers Amy and TJ want back on-air. I’d watch that!

Former ABC News womanizers TJ Holmes and Amy Robach are reportedly thinking about making it official, with a new morning show.

Calling TLC – We’ve found the perfect entrance to MILF Manor!

DailyMail.com reported this week that the two lovers are, unironically, launching the concept of a ‘close and personal’ talk show, having been kicked out for their workplace infidelity.

How much more ‘personal’ can it be? Tune in to watch.

But honestly, why not put these adulterers back on the air? If you haven’t noticed that daytime TV is getting super cheeky.

Gone are the glory days of Hoda and Kathy Lee drinking wine before the first commercial break in the third hour of the Today show. That’s boring by today’s standards.

On MSNBC, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski pioneered the new genre of co-working candoolers.

Now Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos are the co-hosts, after Ryan Seacrest and Michael Strahan were kicked out, as the past first two morning reality shows.

Talk about public displays of affection. These two take it to dizzying new heights.

Anyone who follows them on social media has seen their many arousing semi-nude posts on Instagram. Listen to any of her interviews and you’ll get a front row seat in the bedroom to open up discussions about her wild and impressively active sex life.

Will TJ and Amy share too much too? If they are smart, they will be. Apparently, that’s exactly what viewers want right after they drop the kids off at school.

Times have certainly changed in daytime television. And believe me, I would know.

It was only a matter of time before the reality TV giant engulfed the TV news. Come on, they’re not that different after all. And we can’t take our eyes off a train wreck.

Even the New York Times is writing about the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ sex scandal.

For the uninitiated, ‘Vanderpump Rules’ is a Bravo reality show about the steamy and seedy lives of restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump’s employees and associates.

Well… a long time cast member has cheated on his girlfriend of 9 years with another cast member. And a different Vanderpump girl allegedly punched her lover in her eye. Hooked? she knew it.

And you’re telling me that TJ and Amy don’t deserve a piece of this action?

You have to give it to them, they have played it perfectly.

These are two people that, just a few months ago, the average American did not recognize. In fact, I can’t name a piece of serious journalism that any of them have done and I worked at ABC News for four years.

Then DailyMail.com pictured them on a racy, secretive weekend getaway, and they took the ball and ran with it.

After being exposed, TJ would grab Amy’s butt on the beach while the paparazzi were taking photos. He even conveniently found himself being photographed buying a ring and necklace for Amy’s 50th birthday, which he later conveniently photographed wearing.

They have kissed, hugged, kissed, and straddled each other in public in front of the cameras. They have had numerous beach vacations and have brought us with them. They laugh and play for the cameras and seem to love the attention and the spectacle rather than show remorse or embarrassment. They even received reports of payments while dancing on ABC News.

They have given America a behind-the-scenes look at those people who sit in front of the cameras. Media elites are just as messy and irresponsible as anyone else in America. Probably even more.

If that’s not an exciting reality show plot, then I don’t know what is.

Their days of presenting themselves as ‘real journalists’ are behind them. Imagine them covering another toxic train wreck or interviewing a presidential candidate.

Now in new exclusive leaks for US Weekly, a source says they are considering their “next steps” as a couple, and “talked about…living together and getting engaged.”

Brilliant marketing. Make Amy an honest woman before the premiere. And don’t be surprised if they film special behind-the-scenes clips of the wedding preparations. It will be a perfect first episode.

Now, I know what you’re going to say, doesn’t this reward bad behavior?

If it does.

But who are we to get in the way of their self-destructive behavior?

This show would undoubtedly be a disaster. The timer for how long they will last will be set on the day the program starts.

Their romance secretly and inappropriately formed in the workplace while both were cheating on their spouses.

It was later alleged that TJ was a serial womanizer and potentially worse. He dated at least four women on ABC News before Amy.

Now, in new exclusive leaks to US Weekly, a source says they’re considering their ‘next steps’ as a couple, and ‘talked about…living together and getting engaged.’

Jasmin Pettaway was 24, 13 years younger than TJ, when they began their affair. A well-placed source told DailyMail.com that TJ was “a predator who took full advantage of his position and was reckless”.

Another young ABC News staffer, who had an affair with TJ, identified only as Sascha, said he treated her like a “disposable object.”

Holmes was reportedly “distraught” by these allegations. Someone in his camp told the New York Post: ‘He has a daughter. He hates being painted like this predator.

The infidelity doesn’t matter.

Save yourself the moralizing. I haven’t heard from the #MeToo warriors, demanding justice for the subservient women TJ slept with. And don’t tell me there isn’t a TV executive who wouldn’t jump on this.

Is a ‘Newsroom… Adultery Edition’ reboot that over the top? Bad behavior makes for good reality shows.

If you do not like do not look. But let’s be real, we all need some good old fashioned juicy escapism.

So bow down, Amy and TJ. Lean on who you are. Two completely blatantly shameless people. I hope Bravo knocks on the door.
